Crawford Lake, Ontario, Canada

Following our visit to the Mountsberg Wildlife Center we drove over to the Crawford Lake Conservation Center.  Apparently the main attraction here is the lake, which is surrounded by a boardwalk.  It sits atop the Niagara Escarpment, and apparently offers spectacular views.

Our visit was short, for the purpose of visiting the reconstructed 15th century Iroquois Village, where you can experience their longhouses.  This site offers a view of their lives, including gardens and a maze.  There is also a theater in one of the longhouses where you can learn more about village life.

More information is available at http://www.conservationhalton.on.ca

We would like to revisit Crawford Lake, partly to take more time with the Indian village, but mostly to see the lake and the hiking paths.

There are more photos in the album.
