The Other Mumbai, India

March 11-12, 2010

Most of the time those of us who write blogs show the tourist side of life in the cities and countries we visit.  However, there is also the reality of the lives of a large portion of the population in those places.

India is a poor country in terms of financial wealth, but rich in its people.  While the city is much cleaner now than it was when we saw it two years ago, there are still many beggars there, and many people living on the sidewalks.  One man we saw was sleeping on the base of a column, about three feet off the ground, which was just wide enough to hold him if he lay on his side.

We dedicate this post to the invisible people of Mumbai and all of India.  There are additional photos in the album.
