Snake River Brewing, Jackson Hole, WY

Move over Dogfish Head and Stone Brewing!  In Snake River Brewing you have some real, serious competition.  We stopped here for lunch after a morning spent in Yellowstone National Park and driving through Grand Teton National Park.  Jackson Hole is a resort town with a beautiful setting, perfect for what we found at Snake River Brewing.

The first order of business here was checking out their brewing skills with the beautiful 8-beer sampler flight.  Every one of these beers was excellent, and there were different styles to suit many tastes.

Next on the agenda was the food.  This was another place where we were so interested in trying out the food that we forgot to photograph it before we ate any of it.  If you could taste this pizza you would understand why.  It was an odd-sounding combination of flavors, but we both thought we’d died and gone to heaven when we tasted it.  It was their chorizo peach pizza.  When peaches are not in season they use figs for the fruit, which would also be a heavenly taste.

To fill in the gaps after we finished the pizza we ordered an appetizer, their beer sausage sampler, which came with whole-grain mustard and on a bed of what they call ‘cranberry melted leeks’.  Once again it was a wonderful choice.

Snake River Brewing has won many, many prizes for their brews. This photo shows just a small sampling of them.

In addition to having several dining rooms, they also have a patio which offers additional dining space, plus a bar.  The decor is simple and pleasant.  One interesting aspect of it is the hand painted tiles that they have on the wall in the restrooms and just outside them.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, Snake River Brewing is a place we will return to.  It is definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere near the area.
